Eid al-Adha. It is also referred to as the "Festival of Sacrifice." This Islamic holiday commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, before God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. Eid al-Adha is the second and the larger of the two main Muslim holidays, the first being Eid al-Fitr.
